Pike Place Pin Design (2025)

This pin design features a cardinal wearing a knitted scarf and enjoying a thimble of coffee! It was lovingly sketched and colored using the Procreate app (which currently comes pre-installed on every iPad), making it one of the most widely-used and accessible digital drawing tools. Many youngsters experience their first foray into digital art using Procreate on the iPad, which is so exciting!

As someone who has had the opportunity to teach digital art to children and college students on several occasions, I love this medium for its accessibility and cleanliness. You can do digital art in a tiny workspace, with no prep time, no clean up, and no toxic fumes/chemicals. For this reason, I’m a huge proponent of digital mediums for people who might otherwise not have the physical means or home conditions to create full-colored artwork.
